Rachelle Whittaker Hinkle

EDINBURGH

Rachelle Hinkle

In memory of Rachelle Whittaker Hinkle, 42, of Edinburgh, survived by her two children, Lucas and Renna Hinkle; her parents George and Kathy Whittaker; her in-laws Clark Hinkle, Pat Aldridge, and Maria (Lee) Price. Rachelle’s and Allen’s (her husband) lives were taken suddenly in the early morning hours of Monday, June 28, 2021, when a drunk driver drove the wrong way on a highway just outside of Louisville. Rachelle and her family were on their way home from visiting family in Tennessee.

Rachelle left behind a beautiful legacy of people that she and her husband helped over the years. They did not do it for notoriety, but to simply be helping hands for others. Rachelle gave back through her job as a child psychologist trying to help children navigate through school with a variety of concerns. She gave back through her work as Delta Gamma sister, Jamberry consultant, and most recently through DoTerra oils. She wanted a healthy life for her children, especially after her son was diagnosed with a dairy allergy. She continued her love of oils to offer people alternatives to medicine and ways to just live a cleaner life. She was never pushy. She genuinely wanted to help. Rachelle’s smile and laugh was infectious. She was a bright light in an often-dark world. Even through 2020, Rachelle would try to find ways to make sure she reached out to everyone and would offer to help while maintaining safety for her family. Rachelle did not know a stranger. She was such a happy person that people were drawn to her. One would feel better by just hearing her voice, seeing her face, or just being in her presence.

Rachelle would understand that we mourn our loss of her, but she would want us to celebrate her life, support each other through this dark time, and be with her children and family. We should always remember the fun lady she was with her vivacious spirit.

The funeral service for Rachelle and her husband, Allen, was held at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor John Armstrong officiating. Rachelle and her husband were laid to rest at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
