COLUMBUS, IN
Benny W. Ferrill, 78, passed away at 11:00 P.M. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana inpatient facility in Columbus. He was born on June 23, 1943 in Albany, Kentucky the son of Willie Francis & Rose Marie (Brown) Ferrill. He graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1961. He had been a resident of Decatur County, Brown County, Bartholomew County and South Carolina. He retired from Cummins in 1995. He loved being outdoors and was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his daughter, Natalie Ferrill of Sellersburg; his sisters, Genira England of Lexington, North Carolina, Ronda Brown of Scipio and Doris Sutton of North Vernon; his brothers, James Ferrill of Wilmington, North Carolina, Michael Ferrill of Millhousen, Larry Ferrill of Greenwood, Jerry Ferrill of Nashville, Barry Ferrill and Billy Ferrill both of Westport; his granddaughters, Ashlie (Harry) Burgess and Keamdra Sumpter and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ruby Gay Ferrill. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, August 7th from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. with a graveside service at the Westport Cemetery with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.
