CLARKSVILLE
Doris I. Olsen, age 90, of Clarksville, Indiana passed from this life August 21, 2021 at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Doris was born March 3, 1931 in Bartholomew County, Indiana to Velma Miller and Ivan Cochrane. She lived most of her life in Columbus, Indiana. During the 1970’s Doris worked as a real estate agent in Columbus and was very successful due to her honesty and dedication. She moved to East Lansing, Michigan in 1978, and then to North Carolina in 2002. She moved to Clarksville, Indiana in 2011.
Doris married Iver George Olsen in 1978, and he preceded her in death in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, a sister and a very special aunt who was more like a sister, Laverne Roberts.
Doris is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Timbrook (Jim Stamper) of Clarksville, Indiana and Anita Massey of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Also surviving are grandchildren Michael Fetter (Suzanne) of Cleveland, Tennessee; Amy Fetter of Columbus, Indiana; Branden Morris (Whitney) of Louisville, Kentucky and several great grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren.
As per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Doris has donated her body to the Indiana University Anatomical Education Program, hoping their research will help find clues to the cause of osteoporosis which she suffered from for many years.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. A very special thank you to caregivers Jennifer Smith and Debbie Klehammer for taking such good care of Doris and supporting our family.
