Teddy Littrell and Vince Sasse have been named co-MVPs of the Northside boys tennis team.

Munnaluri and Sangolli were named Most Improved. Sylas Broderick and Vyom Desai shared the Seventh-Grade Mental Attitude Award, and Cam Shute won the Eighth-Grade Mental Attitude.

The Spartans finished the season 7-1 after a 3-2 win against Seymour on Tuesday. Varsity winners included singles player Littrell, and doubles teams of Jace Branham/Burhan Fanee and Shute/Zyan Vallette.

The Northside JV won 4-0 with winning doubles teams of Advait Aras/Sasse, Chandan Munnaluri/Shashu Sabapathy, Ricardo Prata/Raj Sangolli and Broderick/Desai.

East JV falls to Floyd

The Columbus East JV was dealt a 12-8 setback by Floyd Central.

Laird Stidham had an interception return for a touchdown for the Olympians (2-3, 2-1). Jackson Fox also had an interception, and Kaden Fields recovered a fumble.

VOLLEYBALL

Panthers finish unbeaten

The Jennings County eighth-grade White team finished 18-0 following a 25-7, 25-9 win against Seymour on Thursday. Addison Martin served six aces, and Abrey Belding added four aces.

The Panthers were coming off a 25-11, 25-16 win against Brownstown on Tuesday. Syd Kegley recorded two kills and one block, and Molly Ernstes served four aces.

On Monday, Jennings rallied for a 21-25, 25-13, 15-6 win against Greensburg. Martin and Belding each served five aces.

Meanwhile, the Panthers’ seventh-grade White team beat Madison 25-3, 25-14 and Brown County 25-8, 25-10 last weekend to improve to 12-2.

CROSS-COUNTRY

Jennings takes fourth

Jennings County’s boys finished fourth with 101 points in Thursday’s Bedford Invitational. Tri-North won with 44 points.

Zach Walhman and Aaron Lewis finished third and fourth in 12 minutes, 5 seconds and 12:08 for two miles to lead the Panthers. Nate Fewell took 27th in 13:05, while Collin Sharp-Davidson was 29th (13:08) and Jace Vojkufka 88th (13:40).

Gray’s takes lead

Gray’s Pro Shop improved to 28-4 and now leads the Dave York Memorial Tuesday BCB League by four games over DNA Cleaning and 96.3 WJAA.

Gray’s rolled the high team scratch sreies (3,442), and Self Insurance had the high team scratch game (1,161). Sorrells Real Estate posted the high team handicap game (1,205), and 12 Guage had the high team handicap series (3,553).

Kent Thompson recorded the high individual scratch game (299), and Clint Million had the high individual scratch series (788).

Betty’s stays on top

Betty’s Beauty Barr kept its lead in the Wessel & White B.H.H.S. Wednesday Night Mixed League at 28-4. State Farm-Kayla Stice Agent is two games back at 26-6.

State Farm-Kayla Stice rolled the high scratch game (874), and Betty’s had the high scratch series (2,378). Alive-N-Kickin posted the high handicap game (1,025), and Ups & Downs had the High Handicap Series (2,692).

Top men’s performances went to Vince Robinson for scratch game (289), Andy Barr for scratch series (730) and handicap game (315) and William Wells for handicap series (703). Top women were Cheryl Miller for scratch game (235) and scratch series (604) and Barbara Prewitt for handicap game (254) and handicap series (725).
