LOUISVILLE, KY
Dale Allen “Al”, “Rick”, “Ricky” (only to his mother) Rickert, 83, of Louisville, joined our Heavenly Father the morning of Friday, October 29, 2021. Al was born in Souderton, Pennsylvania and was the eldest son of Al and Orpha Rickert.
Al played football, basketball, and baseball, was a member of band and edited the yearbook for Souderton High School. He had a tremendous love of music – he played trombone, the piano and sang with the Deer Park choir for many years.
He excelled in his profession. He enjoyed writing and was a member of a local writer’s group. He honorably served the United States Marine Corp for 10 years. He was a devoted member of Deer Park Baptist Church. He was a dedicated and loving father.
Al is survived by his children, Renee Rickert Gorbett (Mark), Brooke Rickert, and Cory Colon; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Lima; and brother, Leigh Rickert.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021, 10:30 a.m. (gathering of friends and family to begin at 10 a.m.) at Deer Park Baptist Church, 1733 Bardstown Road, with military honors. An exchange of stories and memories will occur to leave each of us with the joy of life our dad felt through each of you.
Our Dad lived his life to the fullest, he accepted challenges head-on, he loved deeply, and he cherished each relationship he formed along the way that led to a beautiful life of wonderful memories. “How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorial donations may be made to Critically Loved at https://criticallyloved.org/daleallenrickert. Condolences may be shared at Ratterman.com.
