COLUMBUS
Catherine L. Hardin, 89, of Columbus, passed away at 10:41 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at Keepsake Village of Columbus.
Catherine was born May 20, 1932, in Williamsport, Indiana, the daughter of Levy and Sarah Morrison Harris. On June 12, 1948, she married Donald L. “Peachie” Hardin.
Mrs. Hardin spent several years farming and driving tractor. In her earlier years, she enjoyed gardening and canning. While working on the farm, she helped tend to the crops and livestock. It is often said that the best crop she ever raised, were her six children. Catherine also liked to sew in her spare time. She is part of the “greatest generation” and will be deeply missed by those that know her best.
Survivors include her children, Connie (Charles) Pack of Memphis, TN, Larry Don Hardin of Elizabethtown, Cathy Poisel of Columbus, Ginny Hardin of Magnet, IN, Russell (Pam) Hardin, Jackie (David ) Pardieck, both of Columbus; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and sister, Loretta Jean Harris of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald “Peachie”; great-grandson, Brandon Harden; sister, Ina Lou Hagan; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hardin and son-in-law, Marc Poisel.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. A live stream of the funeral service may be viewed at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at barkesweaverglick.com.
Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
