BCSC goes to ‘mask optional’ beginning Tuesday

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. has announced that it will adopt a “mask optional” policy beginning Tuesday.

In a meeting with the Indiana Department of Health, schools and county health departments were told that state regulations and the state’s executive order are being revised to make COVID-19 mitigation strategies now local.

BCSC will move from “masks required” to “masks optional” beginning Tuesday, as students are not in school Monday for President’s Day.

Due to federal requirements, masks will remain required for students and staff on school buses.

BCSC officials said with the change to a “masks optional” environment, parents were reminded to keep their children home if feeling ill. Additionally, our nurses in each building will continue to assess students that are not feeling well once at school and send them home as necessary.
