NORTH VERNON
William Dale “Bill” Biddinger, 88, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:17 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
Born January 21, 1934, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of the late Clancy and Loreen (Keith) Biddinger. He married Carolyn (Hines) Biddinger on March 8, 1956, in Vernon; she survives.
Bill worked as a machinist for Cummins Engine Company for 45 years before retiring in 2005. He was a member of Scipio Baptist Church. Bill enjoyed going to the casinos, going fishing and on fishing trips, coin hunting and metal detecting.
Surviving with his wife, Carolyn Biddinger of North Vernon, are sons, Douglas Biddinger and Timothy (Deborah) Biddinger, both of Greensburg; daughter, Jackie Lynn Parker of Greensburg; brother, Keith Biddinger of North Vernon; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Frank and Tom Biddinger.
A funeral service for Bill will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in honor of Bill through the funeral home to donor’s choice of organization.
