Janie A. Faulkner, 71, of Columbus, passed away at 6:03 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Columbus Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Janie was born February 11, 1951, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Harley Alfred and Lorena Lovins Rayburn, Jr. On December 24, 1971, she married Roy G. Faulkner.
Mrs. Faulkner was a longtime registered nurse at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was an instructor for first aid and CPR for the American Red Cross. Janie had a passion for helping people. When she had time for herself, she enjoyed watching crime shows and game shows on television. Janie will be missed by those that knew her best.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Roy; children, Ray (Christi) Faulkner of Columbus, Julie (Mike) Staples of North Vernon; grandchildren, Cody (Heather) Caluya, Caleb Faulkner, Courtney Faulkner, Macayla (Conner) Hearrell, Savannah Rushing, JJ Rushing; great-grandchildren, Chance, Emory, Kamrynn, Ryder, William; siblings, Judy Pedigo of Columbus, Phyllis (Jim) Miller of Elizabethtown, Joyce (Gene) McIntosh of Paris Crossing, Gracie (Darrell) Hull of Westport, Bobby Rayburn of Columbus, Dixie Pruitt of Scottsburg; multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Martin Wright officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. A live stream of the funeral service may be viewed at barkesweaverglick.com.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
