Olympians down Pirates

GREENSBURG — Columbus East had a chance to see the course where it will play next week’s sectional and came away with a 160-171 win against Greensburg Friday at Greensburg Country Club.

Pierce Arnholt and J.T. Kuhlman each shot 38 to lead the Olympians. Ben Luedeke and Conrad Eggers each shot 42, Spencer Erfmeier carded a 43, Carter Greene added a 44 and Jared Brooks had a 50.

Trinity wins sectional

HENRYVILLE — Trinity Lutheran cruised to the Henryville Sectional title with an 11-1, five-inning win against New Washington.

Kamzi Gross and Grace Lance combined on a one-hitter for the Cougars (13-8), who scored three in the first, three in the third and five in the fourth.

Bailey Tabeling, Gross and Ally Russell all had two hits for Trinity. Dianna Munoz had three RBIs.

New Albany ousts Panthers

FLOYDS KNOBS — Jennings County saw its season come to an end with a 5-2 loss to New Albany in the opening round of the Floyd Central Sectional.

Abby McDonald went 2 for 2 for the Panthers (10-18). Alexis Carson had a home run and two RBIs.
