COLUMBUS
Raghbir S. Palia, 67, of Columbus, died Monday, May 30, 2022, at his home.
Raghbir (“Raj”) was born in India on February 21, 1955. He grew up in a large family and learned the true meaning of hard work from his parents. After finishing his electrician degree in India, he married Gurmit on February 12, 1987. Soon after, Raj was able to bring his beloved wife to America where they started a family.
Raj was a hard worker his whole life, dreaming of giving his children and future generations the chance of a wonderful and successful life. Starting with very little to nothing, working every day, he left this world as a successful business owner. He loved to go to his stores and talk to all the customers.
Spending time with his children and grandchildren was the highlight of his life. We could often find him watching them play in the sunshine, making them laugh, and sharing words of wisdom. He wholeheartedly loved his family.
Raj is survived by his wife, Gurmit; three children, and six grandchildren. He was the proud father of Serbjit (Nicole) Palia, Mandeep (Harminder) Singh, and Sharnjit Palia. His grandchildren, Suraj, Samir, Harman, Savinder, Simran, and Navreet, gave him true happiness and great joy.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike.
Following calling hours, cremation will take place. No funeral services are planned at this time.
