Express teams to play in Indiana Soccer Cup final four

The Columbus Express Soccer Club 2011 Girls Orange team won an Indiana Soccer League championship. Two Columbus Express teams will play in the Indiana Soccer Cup final four this weekend, and both are from the 2008 age group.

The 2008 Boys Orange team advanced in the Presidents Cup after going 2-1 in its group. The team will face USAI on Saturday, and the winner will play Southern Indiana United or ECU in Sunday’s final.

The 2008 Girls will play Zionsville Youth Soccer Association in Saturday’s semifinals. The winner will play Impact SC or NWI Lions in the final on Sunday.

Meanwhile, four other Express teams won league championships. The 2005 Boys Orange team, coached by Ty Smith, went undefeated in US Youth Soccer’s Great Lakes Conference and will earn promotion to US Youth Soccer’s top tier of the Great Lakes Conference.

The 2005 Girls Orange team, coached by Drew Little, went 5-0-1 to win the Indiana Soccer League and will be promoted to ISL Premier. The 2010 Boys Blue team, coached by Brayan Morales, went undefeated in the ISL. The 2011 Girls Orange team, coached by Ilya Schwartzman, went 7-1 to win an ISL title.
