COLUMBUS
Rose Marie Merrifield, 74, of Columbus, left her friends and family to be with her Lord, Jesus, and her beloved mother on Saturday June 4, 2022 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. She was the precious daughter of Nora Mamie Merrifield and was born April 28, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN.
Rose Marie was an employee of the Beltway Scissor Company for many years and the Vogel Brothers Company for 9 years. She was a skilled embroiderer and her embroidery pieces were very beautiful. She made many friends at DSI over the years. She lived the last few months of her life at Columbus Transitional Care and made many friends among the residents and staff. She liked to attend Church, most recently at The Rock Church and she participated in the Monday night Friendship Bible Study at First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed parties, dances, coloring, Bingo, Uno and crafts.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest next to her mother in Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis. Rest in peace Dear Rose.
Rose Marie was a very loving person. She leaves behind her sister, Nora (Ken) Hughes; nieces, Karen and Kathy and a nephew Alex. She also leaves behind many caring people, most recently from Star Anderson, Susan Bass, Stacy and her guardians, John and Brenda Deffler. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to each and all of you.
Rose Marie was preceded in death by her mother, Nora; grandfather, William Alfred Merrifield; aunt and uncle, Donald and Flora Marie Burge and a cousin, Frederick C. Burge.
