Deborah “Debby” L. Siegel

COLUMBUS

Deborah “Debby” L. Siegel, 82, of Columbus, passed from this life at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Debby was born March 1, 1940, in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of Leroy Alverice and Dorothy Pauline Hill Pitts. On August 30, 1959, she married Charles Richard Siegel, Jr.

Mrs. Siegel graduated from Columbus High School in 1958. She attended Ivy Tech University where she received her certificate. Debby worked as an LPN at Doctors Park Family Medicine Practice for many years before retiring. She was a longtime euchre club member and was still actively attending those meetings, enjoying time with her friends. Debby loved bird watching, baking, gardening and of course, family get togethers. She also enjoyed water aerobics but liked to listen to John Denver even more. Mrs. Siegel had a very strong Faith and she would read her devotionals daily. She will be missed by those that knew her best.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Charles; children, Charles R. (Melissa) Siegel III of Anderson, Tara L. (Jeffrey) Waldo of Hope, Leslie A. (Juan Carlos Lara) Siegel of Columbus; grandchildren, Charles Waldo, Andrew (Brittany) Waldo, Joshua (Kelsey) Siegel, Haley Siegel, Shannon (Theodore) Eacret; great-grandchildren, Ayden Eacret, Hunter Siegel, Hayden Siegel; siblings, Jennie Phegley of Columbus, Dr. David (Sandy) Pitts of Port Townsend, Washington, Barry (Carol Uyeda) Pitts of Seattle, Washington as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Farrell Phegley.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. James Higdon officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. A live stream of the funeral service may be viewed Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at barkesweaverglick.com.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
