COLUMBUS
Sarah Frances (Frannie) Fox Dixon, age 97, of Columbus went peacefully home to be with the Lord at her residence on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
She is survived by her children Margaret (Margie) Bowman of Columbus, Libby Dixon of West Harrison, Helen Ramey of North Vernon, Howard (Tina) Bowman of Columbus and Shirley Rahn of Sunman; along with 8 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Arthur and Leslie Fox; and sister Margaret Roberts.
Born November 11, 1924 in Dearborn County, she was the daughter of Albert Fox and Irene Dawson Fox. She graduated from Guilford High School in 1945.
Her childhood was spent working on the family farm followed by 40 years spent as a restaurant cook. Frances spent 32 years serving delicious meals to the community at Jerry’s Restaurant in Columbus.
Frances enjoyed crocheting and loved flower gardens. She was a member of Queensville Church.
Frannie will be remembered by the many children and parents of Margie’s Munchkins as the first smiling face they would see early in the morning and the last goodbye late in the day.
Per her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
Memorial contributions can be directed to Queensville Church or a memorial fund of the donor’s choice.
