COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Johnny D. Seniours Sr., 69, of Columbus, passed from this life at 1:32 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Johnny was born in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, September 26, 1953, the son of Bert and Velma Clark Seniours.
Johnny was a 1972 graduate of Columbus High School, and he served in the Indiana Army National Guard.
Johnny worked many years for the Indiana State Highway Department. Johnny was a member of Faith Hope &Love Church of God in Christ. He enjoyed watching IU basketball and he was very family oriented. Johnny will be remembered as a loving dad and husband.
Survivors include his children, Johnny (Julie) Seniours Jr. of North Vernon and Velma (Jonathan) Seniours Parker of North Vernon; three grandsons; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; brothers, Tom Seniours, James Seniours, and David Seniours of Columbus, and Charles Harris of Seymour; sisters, Mary Smith of Indianapolis and Earlene Harris of Georgia; two stepdaughters; a stepson; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Velma Seniours; wife, Candy Jo Seniours; brothers, Raymond, Bert, and Earvin Seniours, and Henry Harris; and a sister, Hilda Gail Harris.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at Faith Hope &Love Church of God in Christ, 11401 East State Road 7, Elizabethtown, Indiana 47232; Pastor Mike Harris will officiate. Military honors will be presented by the Indiana Army National Guard Honor Guard.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
In keeping with Johnny’s wishes, cremation will take place following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charities.
