COLUMBUS
Kenneth “Alan” Hendrickson, 71, of Columbus passed from this life on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 2:36 p.m. at his home.
Alan was born on February 3, 1952, in Columbus, the son of Kenneth and Alberta McKinney Hendrickson. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and then went on to serve in the Indiana National Guard. He retired from Cummins Engine Company and was a very involved member of N.A. and A.A. Some of his greatest joys were mushroom hunting, fishing, hunting, and horseback riding.
Survivors include his siblings, Debra Sample of North Vernon, Becky Wagner of Columbus, Doug Hendrickson of Butlerville, and Cheryl Hendrickson of Hope; an aunt, Shirley Mitchell of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Nay.
In keeping with Alan’s wishes cremation will take place.
A celebration of life service will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Roy Hendershot officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10:00 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. at McKinney Cemetery in Brown County with military honors presented by the Brown County Honor Guard.
In memory of Mr. Hendrickson memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society or Narcotics Anonymous.
