ELIZABETHTOWN
Douglas M. Dishman, 80, of Elizabethtown, passed from this life at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at his home.
Mr. Dishman was born July 7, 1942, in Red Jacket, West Virginia, the son of Walter D. and Bessie E. Grimmett Dishman.
He married Freda M. Burton November 9, 1960.
Doug retired from Garland Brook Cemetery.
He was a member of Columbus Covenant Family Worship Center Church of God and enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and his dog Snoopy.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years; children, Brian (Michelle) Dishman of Seymour, Marinda (Randy) Phelps of Arkansas, Daril Dishman and Douglas E. Dishman both of Columbus; grandchildren, Shawn (George) Estes, Kayla Dishman, Monika (Josh) Patterson, William Thomas Dishman II, Izak Dishman, Lukas Dishman, Nathan Phelps, Ashley Dishman, Cassie Davis, Eric Davis, Stephanie Yates, Shelby Yates, Xaiver Dishman and Steven Fields; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor John Carr officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday and 9:30 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home.
He will be laid to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery.
