COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Buddy R. Antle, 93, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023, at his home.
Buddy was born in Indianapolis, July 10, 1929, the son of the late Omra and Mabel Aaron Antle. Buddy was united in marriage to Gerta R. Holbrook, February 1, 1958; she preceded him in death November 12, 2013.
Buddy graduated from Columbia High School in Kentucky in 1948. Buddy had a long career with Reeves Pulley and then Reliance Electric retiring in 1991 as a quality control manager.
Buddy was a member of First Christian Church, St. John’s Masonic Lodge No. 20, and the Murat Shrine. He was very active with the Shriners; he was a member of the Bartholomew County and Brown County Shrine Clubs. Buddy made over 100 trips driving children to Shriners Hospitals for Children and he enjoyed taking children to the Shrine Circus. Buddy always enjoyed participating in driving the Shriners minivan in parades. An avid volunteer, Buddy was a long time volunteer for the Firemen’s Cheer Fund. Buddy had a passion for riding motorcycles, and he was a member of the Retreads International Motorcycle Club.
Buddy will be missed by his daughter, Patty (Bill) Bohn of Columbus; grandchildren, Kim (Scott) Fields of Columbus and Trent (Ashley) Bohn of Seymour; great-grandchildren, Sidney, Lillian, Braxton, Jake, Scout, Isla, and Gibson; sisters, Betty Hadley, Shirley Antle, Emma Meisner, and Gracie Ross; and several nieces and nephews.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Omra and Mabel Antle; wife, Gerta Antle; daughter, Barbara Antle; and brothers, Gene, Billy, and Jerry Antle.
In keeping with Buddy’s wishes, cremation is planned. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
