COLUMBUS, Ind. — The U.S. Army has announced that it will be conducting exercises in Columbus today and local residents may see more air traffic around Columbus.
These exercises are helicopter exercises and are planned to mostly be conducted to the
south of downtown to minimize disruption to homes in the area, city officials said. They will occur during both the day and tonight.
Some of these air exercises may appear to be low to the ground. The U.S. Army will provide security during these training exercises.
The city asks that residents comply with any requests the military might make while they are in the Columbus area today, officials said.
First responders are on standby in case of any emergency, according to the city. The backup date for these training exercises is Saturday.
