Colin Kistler // Hauser junior track athlete
Kistler swept the three distance races — the 1,600, 800 and 3,200 meters — and anchored the winning 4×800 relay team at the Mid-Hoosier Conference meet to lead the Jets to the team title.
His performance last week: “I was very pleased that I was able to go out and run four races and be able to compete at a high level in each. I’m just very blessed to have the ability to go out and do what I do.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I have spaghetti every night before a meet, and I try not to get nervous before I run, just stay kind of loose, and I always pray before a race.”
Favorite drink: “Glacier Cherry Gatorade”
Favorite food: “Cheeseburger”
Favorite class: “PE or Algebra”
Favorite sports team: “Indiana Pacers”
Favorite athlete: “LeBron James”
Role model: “My coach (Ben Finke)”
Best advice: “Always know where your strength and everything comes from, from God. He has blessed me with everything that I have.”
Athletics goal: “I would like to break Hauser’s 1,600 record for track or go to state for cross-country.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Alaska, so I can see the Northern Lights and all the stars and everything, and I can do the whale watching there.”

Lemmons went 3 for 5 in a 6-3 win at Brownstown Central, 1 for 5 in a 7-1 win at Bloomington South, 1 for 3 with a grand slam in a 12-5 win against North Harrison and 4 for 4 with five stolen bases in a 10-0 win against South Bend Adams.
Her performance last week: “I think this week was really good. I came out of a really bad slump about two weeks ago. It’s nice to see actual production coming from my hits. Even if they’re just singles, it feels good to be back in a rhythm.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I have a lot of superstitions, but I don’t do anything very specific.”
Favorite drink: “I will chug down a Dr. Pepper.”
Favorite food: “I could eat french fries every meal.”
Favorite class: “Graphic Design”
Favorite sports team: “I’m on the Tennessee ride right now for college softball.”
Favorite athlete: “(Pro softball player) Aliyah Andrews”
Role model: “My mother (Nickie Lemmons).”
Best advice: “Don’t think. Just do. You can’t ponder on something because you won’t succeed.”
Athletics goal: “I want to get through college (at IU-Southeast), and if I can do more, I want to do more. But college is the big goal right now. I want to be able to do all four years.”
If you could travel anywhere: “I want to go to New Zealand. It’s so pretty there, and I just want to experience it.”
