SOFTBALL

East downs Warriors

Kenzie Foster went 4 for 4 with a double, two home runs and three RBIs Thursday to lead Columbus East to a 10-8 win against Scottsburg.

The Olympians (15-11) had to rally after the Warriors scored five times in the top of the first. Scottsburg still led 6-5 after five innings before East scored five times in the sixth.

Kaylee Cole went 2 for 4 for the Oympians. Hermione Robinson had a home run and four RBIs and threw and eight-hitter.

Lancers blank Mohawks

EDINBURGH — MacKenzie Bieker threw a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts to lead Edinburgh to a 11-0, five-inning Mid-Hoosier Conference win against Waldron.

Bieker also had two RBIs at the plate for the Lancers (12-11, 9-2).

Cougars rout Tigers

GREENSBURG — South Decatur rolled to a 19-4 win against Crothersville.

Lydia Witkemper went 3 for 4 with a triple and a home run for th Cougars (4-19). Kyra Fields went 2 for 2 with a triple.

Eagles edge Clovers

NASHVILLE — Brown County pulled out a 6-5 win against Cloverdale.

Savannah Oden and Ally Hash each had two hits for the Eagles. Abigail Watson and Lexie Austin each had two RBIs.

Knights top Panthers

AURORA — Jennings County led 1-0 after two innings, but South Dearborn came back for a 7-3 victory.

Kenzie Matern went 2 for 3 and allowed only two earned runs in a complete game in the circle for the Panthers (12-15).

BASEBALL

East falls to Warriors

Scottsburg jumped out to a 6-0 lead after four innings and went on to hand Columbus East at 7-2 defeat.

Evan Balzer went 2 for 2 with two RBIs, and Eli Tindell went 2 for 3 for the Olympians (4-21).

Mohawks stop Lancers

EDINBURGH — Edinbufgh led 2-0 after three innings, but Waldron scored 10 times in the fourth and went on to post a 14-2, five-inning MHC win.

Milas Burkman went 2 for 2 for the Lancers (3-20, 0-12). Jarrett Turner and Jacob Myers each went 2 for 3.

Eagles fall to Clovers

NASHVILLE — Brown County wrapped up its regular season with a 7-1 loss to Cloverdale.

Sawyer Gore had a double for one of the four hits for the Eagles (3-18).

BOYS GOLF

Olympians post win

Pierce Arnholt won medalist honors with a 38 to lead Columbus East to a 161-173 win against Batesville at Otter Creek.

Carter Greene carded a 40 for the Olympians. Spencer Erfmeier added a 42, Ben Luedeke shot 44, Jamall Starks had a 46 and Keaton Stephenson finished with a 56.

Jets upend Spartans

Hunter Pappano won medalist honors with a 43 to lead Hauser to a 190-234 win against Southwestern (Shelby) at Clifty Creek.

Caleb Wallace carded a 45 for the Jets. Brenden Burton added a 49, Marshall Moody shot 53 and Colten Hatton had a 59.

Eagles finish third

BEDFORD — Brown County finished third in a tri meet at Stonecrest. Edgewood won with a 155 to 187 for host Eastern Greene and 190 for the Eagles.

Clay Austin led Brown County with a 43. Wesley Arndt carded a 46, Liam Cassiday added a 49, Bradley Arndt shot 52, Jon Kirchhofer had a 58 and Will Hiatt finished with a 62.

Lancers take third

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh finished third in a tri match at Timbergate. Shelbyville edged Indianapolis Luthearn 161-162, and the Lancers had a 176.

Max Blandford led Edinburgh with a 38. Devyn Milburn carded a 42, Wyatt Burton added a 47, Mason Calhoun shot 49 and Keegan Smith finished with a 70.

Rebels oust Panthers

GREENSBURG — Jennings County saw its season come to an end with a 3-2 loss to Southwestern (Hanover) in the semifinals of the Greensburg Sectional.

Tatum Brown beat Syreina Hardy 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Kaydence Lowman topped Emma Hatton 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles for the Panthers (3-15).

Jennings’ Jocelyn Valdovinos fell to Ava Barnes 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Mia Silvey and Gabi Morin lost to Autymn Gross and Natalie LaRue 6-4, 6-4 at no. 1 doubles, and Makenzey Carr and Trina Collins fell to Raygan Crawford and Kaylee Hite 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
