Amber D. Burchett, 36, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life Monday, June 26, 2023, at her home.
Amber entered life February 12, 1987, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Audrey Burchett Smith and Steve Shively.
Amber loved dogs, especially her chihuahuas.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her mother and stepfather, Audrey and Steve Smith of Columbus; her son, Loy Bassett of Madison, Indiana; grandmother, Sharon Burchett of Madison, Indiana; sister, Amanda (Phillip) Smith of Columbus; uncle and aunts, Jim and Lori Burchett of Brownstown, Indiana and Lisa Lumpford of Madison, Indiana; and several great-aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Amber was preceded in death by her grandparents, Audrey and Logan Lumpford and Harold Ford; aunt, Oma Jean Hunter.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2023, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Amber will be laid to rest at the Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Cemetery near Freetown, Indiana.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Cemetery.
