He was born in Columbus, Indiana, on May 25th, 1942, the son of Howard and Ruth (Meyer) Bloomenstock. He graduated in 1960 from Columbus Senior High School.

Eric took pride in his many careers. First and foremost, he was a farmer on his family’s land. He was a pilot for Rhoades Aviation and flew privately from 1970 to 2003. During that time, he was also a flight instructor and worked for Columbus Municipal Airport. Throughout the 1990’s, he was a short and long-haul Semi-Driver for M Hart Express. He worked as a security guard until his retirement in 2015.

Beyond all his careers, Eric valued one thing above all, family. Eric was living proof that family is what you make it. He was married to Rosetta Johnson on September 5th, 1980. He always beamed with pride for his daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all his nieces and nephews. He poured his heart and soul into providing for his family and anyone he considered a part of it and did all he could to leave them with a legacy of love and understanding. A man after God’s own heart, Eric was a member of Garden City Christian Church and was an embodiment of 1 Corinthians 13 to all who knew him.
