Gregory Paul Dinkins

Gregory Paul Dinkins 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 13 at home. He was born on June 14, 1947, in Columbus, Indiana to Paul and Dotty (Thompson) Dinkins.

Greg was a 1965 graduate of Columbus High School where he played on the CHS football and

track teams. He graduated from Earlham College in 1970 with a degree in physical education.

He married Maryann Berkowski in Franklin, Indiana on March 24, 1973. She was the love of his

life and that true love continued even after her passing on October 20, 2021. Greg began his career with Wilson Sporting Goods Co. in River Grove, Illinois where he was regional sales manager. In 1985, he joined Ram Golf Corp as National Sales Manager for professional golf sales. In 1998, he and Maryann moved from the Chicago area to Tupelo, Mississippi where he was co-owner and Executive VP for Hansberger Precision Golf, a manufacturer and distributor of Ram Tour Golf Balls. After retiring from the golf industry in 2002, he and his wife moved back to Columbus, Indiana where Greg worked for Developmental Services Incorporated to do caregiving for men and women with special needs in group homes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by two brothers, Douglas Dinkins (Sharen) of Holland, Michigan, Philip Dinkins (Ed Lally) of St. Petersburg, Florida, niece Kim Ballew (Tim) of Cypress, Texas, nephew Scott Dinkins (Teresa) of Wabash, Indiana, great nephews Andrew Dinkins, Alex Dinkins, Zachary Ballew, and great niece Addison Dinkins.

Greg loved spending time especially Christmas, Father’s Day and Hilton Head vacations with his extended family. He was a low-handicap golfer and enjoyed golfing with friends at Tupelo Country Club in Mississippi. He loved watching sports including Purdue basketball and football, the Colts and the Bears. He loved his community and wrote many letters to the editor of the local newspaper. He was always generous and willing to help others.
