Columbus North came close in the third quarter Thursday, but Lawrence Central won all four varsity quarters in a girls basketball scrimmage.
The Bears won the first quarter 12-2, the second quarter 20-7, the third quarter 13-11 and the fourth quarter 15-6 for a combined total of 60-26.
Freshman Avery Johnson led the Bull Dogs with seven points. Freshman Kaylie Harmon scored five points, and Miley McClellan and Olivia Johnson each added four.
North opens the regular season Nov. 4 against Franklin.
