HOPE
Lowell Thompson, 70, passed away in Hope, IN on November 23rd.
Lowell was born April 4th, 1953 in Columbus, IN to Harold and Betty Thompson Hepburn. His early years were spent in Edinburgh, IN, but the family later moved to Hope, where he attended Hauser High School and met his wife, Susan. The couple spent time in Georgia before returning to Indiana and starting a family. With a career in sales, Lowell didn’t know a stranger. Known as “LT” to many (when asked what it stood for, he would reply “Lotsa’ Things”), he was always ready to lend a hand; helping people and making them laugh brought him great joy. Lowell was a kind-hearted jokester that loved playing his guitar by the campfire, riding his Harley, and tinkering on cars and projects.
Lowell was preceded in death by his mother and father, step-father Ellsworth (Porky) Hepburn, his sister, Louann Raeder, and brother, Wayne Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Susan Thompson, sister, Freida (Ronnie) Robertson, brother, Joey (Betsy) Hepburn, son, Cody (Alisha) Thompson, daughter, Lindsey (Matt) Swenson, and four grandchildren: Lola and Mac Thompson, Jack and Poppy Swenson.
Cremation is planned and a memorial visitation is set for 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, December 3rd at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Immediately following will be a brief Celebration of Life. Donations to Bartholomew County Humane Society are appreciated.
