Nate Anderson // Columbus East senior wrestler
Anderson went 3-0 to win the 150-pound weight class and help lead the Olympians to a runner-up team finish in Saturday’s East Invitational. He also won his match by tech fall in a 50-16 win at Columbus North.
His performance last week: “On Saturday, I walked out, and I knew I was hot off that big win (on Wednesday), so I was going for it.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just get my mind right. I know I’m going to go out there and have the mentality to win.”

Favorite food: “Spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread”

Role model: “My dad (Adam Anderson) and my grandfathers (Clay Coons and Brad Anderson)”
Best advice: “A quote I’ve read is, ‘Don’t let the fear of striking out stop you from playing the game,’ because that fear will kill you in the end.”
Athletics goal: “To make it to state this year.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Switzerland for the mountains. I think it would be a good time.”

Katie Frazier // Columbus North junior swimmer
Katie Frazier
Frazier won the 200- and 500-yard freestyle and anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay team in a 113-72 win against Columbus East. On Saturday, she won the 100 freestyle, placed second in the 200 individual medley and swam on two winning relay teams in a 139-44 win against Bedford North Lawrence.
Her performance last week: “I was actually really happy with how I performed. I got a lot of lifetime bests and a lot of season bests, so I don’t think it could have gone any better.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I usually just make sure I carb load the night before and make sure I get a lot of rest, and then the day of the meet, I make sure I warm up properly and get ready for my races.”
Favorite drink: “Dr. Pepper”
Favorite food: “Ravioli”
Favorite class: “US History or Nursing”
Favorite sports team: “Purdue football”
Favorite athlete: “Katie Ledecky”
Role model: “My dad (Tim Frazier)”
Best advice: “Make sure that you just keep kicking. Don’t ever stop. Even if it hurts, you can finish.’’’
Athletics goal: “I would like to make it on the podium in all my events at sectional.”
