East boys win, girls fall to Trojans

The Columbus East swimmers split a dual meet with East Central on Tuesday. The Olympians won the boys contest 108-77, while the Trojans took the girls meet 108-75.

Todd Hundley won the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 8.75 seconds) and 100 backstroke (57.91), Cavan Stilson took the 50 freestyle (22.69) and 100 freestyle (49.64) and Misha Machavariani captured the 100 butterfly (54.64) and 100 breaststroke (1:02.97) to lead the East boys.

Also for the Olympians, Judah Nickoll won the 200 freestyle (1:53.02), Gavin Day took the diving competition (224.00) and Keaton Stephenson captured the 500 freestyle (5:12.17). East won the 200 medley (1:43.46) and 400 freestyle (3:28.89) relays.

Connelly Furnish led the girls with wins in the 500 freestyle (5:19.03) and 100 breaststroke (1:14.40). Gabbie Meier took the diving (245.70), and the Olympians captured the 200 medley relay (2:08.26).
