COLUMBUS
Gail E. Burkett, 77, of Columbus, passed from this life at 12:08 p.m. Monday, December 25, 2023, at her home.
Mrs. Burkett was born October 19, 1946, in Tonawanda, New York, the daughter of Augustine and Christine Gilmore Trebnik.
She married Bruce C. Burkett November 25, 1971.
Gail was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed her time volunteering at Turning Point and was a former coordinator for Easter Seals of Bartholomew County.
She was a former branch manager for Irwin Union Bank and formerly employed at Walmart.
Survivors include her husband Bruce of 52 years; sons, Brent Burkett of Columbus and Kevin (Emily) Burkett of Greenwood; a granddaughter, Trinity Burkett; great-grandsons, Mason and Kamari Burkett; and her sister, Ellen Miller of Dayton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Trebnik.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with the Revs. Mark Teike and Tim Carter officiating.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 9:30 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the church.
She will be laid to rest at the Garland Brook Mausoleum.
