
The Driftwood River flows through Mill Race Park on Jan. 24, 1999, sending water up to the stage area. From the covered bridge one could see fish grabbing a sweet treat on the water’s surface and Canada geese enjoying a cool swim around the city lamps.

The Columbus North High School girls basketball team was able to pull away from Bloomington South for a 59-51 win. Bull Dog Alli Patberg connected on five of the final seven points in the battle for first place in Conference Indiana.
1999
Optional full-day kindergarten expanded to all 11 elementary schools in Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. after state legislators took a fresh look at the topic. Previously, full-day kindergarten had only been offered at four schools.
1974
A puppet show adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s classic children’s story, “Peter Rabbit,” was presented by Puck Players Theater in the Red Room of Cleo Rogers Memorial Library. Local children were delighted by the Bloomington-based puppeteers as they shared Peter’s adventures in Farmer McGregor’s garden.
