Leah Beth Byrnes, 53, of Indianapolis passed away February 2, 2024. She was born January 24, 1971 in Columbus, IN to parents Ronald L. Byrnes and Phyllis D. Byrnes.
Leah is survived by her parents, Ronald and Phyllis Byrnes, her sister Lisa D. Adams, nephews Brian Stam and Brandon Stam, four great nephews, and special friend and caregiver Cheryl Frye.
Leah was preceded in death by her grandparents Donald and Madeline Byrnes and John and Lola Waltz as well as her aunt, Lois Mires.
Leah was a graduate of Columbus East High School, Purdue University and she obtained her MBA at the University of Indianapolis. Leah was Director of Credit &Collections at Allegion where she was employed for 23 years.
Leah loved to travel especially to the Great Smoky Mountains and loved exploring Indiana’s state parks, attending concerts by local bands and going to festivals. Leah was a star athlete in junior high and high school in Columbus. She was MVP from 1987 – 1989 in Girls Basketball at Columbus East High School. She was a past member of East Columbus United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home located at 1605 S State Road 135, Greenwood, IN.
Leah will be laid to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery located at 501 N. Gladstone Avenue in Columbus, IN.
