Raymond Minor was one of 70 Hoosier World War II veterans selected to receive an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., to participate in the Indy Honor Flight program. When Minor, along with the other veterans, arrived in D.C., they were greeted by a cheering crowd of more than 3,000 well-wishers.
1999
Columbus sculptor Robert Pulley had two of his abstract, human-scale ceramic sculptures included in a show titled “The Object of Sculpture” at Wright State University Art Galleries in Dayton, Ohio. Twenty-four artists from 12 states were included in the exhibition of contemporary North American sculpture, which was open through May 9.
1974
About 30 children participated in the annual Easter Egg Hunt for disabled children at Donner Park, sponsored by by the Bartholomew County Easter Seals Society. Each child received a bag full of gifts donated by local stores at the end of the hunt.
