INDIANAPOLIS — Co-No. 14 Columbus North won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, but No. 7 Carmel took the other three to pull out a 3-2 victory in a girls tennis match played at Southport on Monday to close the regular season.
Kathryn Wilson beat Nora Perkins 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Aya Saad topped Elaine Li 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles for the Bull Dogs (11-4).
North’s Annabelle Sun fell to Grace Kim at No. 3 singles, and Lucy Bergman and Lizzie Bodart lost to Addison Joyce and Gabby Hall at No. 1 doubles, both by 6-0, 6-1 scores. Grace Conner and Lison Cloteaux fell to Sydney Carroll and Brylie Price 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Meanwhile, the Bull Dogs learned Monday evening that they will be playing crosstown rival Columbus East in the opening round of the North Sectional at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The North-East winner will face Edinburgh, and Hauser will meet Greensburg in Thursday’s semifinals, also at 4:30 p.m. The sectional final is at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
