Charles Arthur Pendleton

Charles Arthur Pendleton, 63, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Ascension – St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born May 17, 1961, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Arthur and Wilma Jean (Boggs) Pendleton. He married Cheryl Fields on July 29, 2003, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee; she survives.

Charles was a 1979 graduate of Columbus North High School and worked as a forklift driver and in shipping and receiving for Dorel in Columbus for 45 years before retiring in 2023. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and his dog, Scout.

Surviving with his wife, Cheryl; are his sons, Brett Pendleton of Franklin and Michael (Amanda) Henderson of Columbus; his daughter, Cathy (Shawn) Robertson of North Vernon; brother, Ralph (Debbie) Pendleton of Columbus; grandchildren, Caydence Henderson and Aryianna O’Neal, both of Columbus, and Jimmy Robertson and Cason Robertson, both of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Caleb Fish; and granddaughter, Shelby Robertson.

A funeral service for Charles will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Don Morris officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Old Valley Regular Baptist Church Cemetery in Freetown.

Memorials may be made in honor of Charles through the funeral home to the Old Valley Regular Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
