COLUMBUS
Larry Joe Bogard, 79, peacefully passed away Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, at Our Hospice. Larry was born May 9th, 1945, in Daviess County, Indiana. He was the son of Cecil Colvin Bogard and Doris Irene Copeland.
He graduated from Washington High School in 1963 and completed training in Mechanical Engineering and Government Trade Toolmaker. He attended Boyce Bible College and was a Minister of the Gospel. He retired from Cummins in 2000 after 33 years. Larry married Anna Summers on July 29th, 1966.
Larry enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, gardening, baking, repairing lawnmowers, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. His greatest joy was to teach God’s Word and tell others of God’s love and forgiveness. His passions were Celebrate Recovery programs, jail ministry, teaching children, and nursing home ministry.
Larry is survived by his wife Anna; his son Trent (Renee) Bogard, daughter Tracy (Fred) Walden, daughter Teri Bogard, grandchildren: Kelsey (Kenn) Seymore, Nathan (Becky) Bogard, Ryan and Hannah Walden, and great-grandchildren: Warren and William Seymore. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and sisters.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, from 9:30 am until 11:00 am with service following at Community Church of Columbus, Columbus, Indiana.
