NAMI Peer-to-Peer is an eight-session recovery-focused course for adults with mental health conditions. Free and confidential and led by peers with mental health conditions. A great resource for information on mental health and recovery that offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope to build on the strength and resilience of participants. Sports, exercise, wellness

MOONLIGHT LOOP, 9 p.m., June 22, Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. The 2024 Moonlight Loop is a leisurely 19-mile night bike ride around scenic Columbus. Registration is $35 through June 21 and $40 on race day, June 22. Whether you decide to ride or not, you can still be a part of it all by memorializing/honoring a beloved pet (or a special animal-loving human). Volunteers are also needed to assist with the event. LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY, 4:15 to 5:15 p.m., Saturdays through Oct. 12, Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena, 2501 Lincoln Park Dr., Columbus. A noncompetitive environment in which children ages 4-10 can learn the basic skills of hockey. $5 Drop-in. Arrive 30 minutes early to get fitted for equipment. Attendees will learn the basics of welding, positions, and equipment setup; tour Propeller’s metal shop, get an overview of welding safety and receive two hours of hands-on experience with welding equipment under the guidance of an experienced instructor. BASIC WOODWORKING: CUTTING BOARD, 2 to 5 p.m., June 22, 23, Columbus Propeller, 4760 Ray Boll Blvd., Columbus. This is a two-day project. Delve into the world of craftsmanship as you learn to wield woodworking tools and create your own personalized cutting board. All skill levels welcome. $70 for members and $80 for non-members.

The Bartholomew County Genealogical Society would like to recognize the Yellow Trail Museum’s 50th Anniversary in 2025 with the First Families in the Hawcreek/Flatrock area. The First Families of Hope Talks continue through August 2025. Suggestions for names for Group 2 are welcomed. Bring photos, genealogy, documents, stories or anything else you might want to share. With your permission, the genealogical society will scan copies during the sessions, so you can take home the originals you bring. These digital copies will be available for all attendees (bring your own jump drive), as well as the Yellow Trail Research Center.

COLUMBUS STAR QUILTERS, 9:30 a.m. to noon, June 6 and the first Thursday of each month, First Baptist Church Columbus, 3300 Fairlawn Drive, Columbus. Mary Jane Eihocker Kaufman will present a program on the history of the Indianapolis Star quilt blocks and contest. This is meaningful to the Star Quilters because the group was formed as a result of these contests. After the presentation, there will be a pitch-in luncheon celebrating the forty-first anniversary of the Star Quilters. Each gathering consists of a short business meeting followed by a quilting lesson/program, along with show-and-tell of finished projects. Members participate in various service projects. BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, 524 Third St., Columbus. BCHS hosts two permanent exhibits that share the history and heritage of Bartholomew County. Learn about our county through interactive, hands-on exhibits that include a map table, notable people, county timeline, Then and Now, Did You Know, early industrialists and videos of Reeves steam engines. The historical society also hosts rotating exhibits throughout the year featuring items from their extensive collection. Admission is free, with a donation suggested. GALLERY 506, Columbus Indiana Visitors Center, 506 Fifth St., Columbus. Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dutch photographer Iwan Baan’s architecturally focused work documenting Columbus’ many notable Modernist structures will be featured through August.

YELLOW TRAIL MUSEUM/VISITORS CENTER/RESEARCH CENTER, west side of Hope Town Square, 644 Main St., Hope. BROWN COUNTY ART GUILD, 48 S. Van Buren St., Nashville. New exhibits at the Brown County Art Guild!
