NORTH VERNON — The Columbus East girls wrestling team defeated Jennings County 49-24 and Jeffersonville 48-36 to open the season on Wednesday.
Tienica Dits went 2-0 at 100 pounds for the Olympians. Sydney Morrow went 1-0 at 105, Taylor Engelking went 2-0 at 115, Saige Plummer was 2-0 at 120, Madison Mount was 2-0 at 135, Eden Knight was 1-0 at 145, Maddie Shrader was 2-0 at 190, Monica McMahon was 2-0 at 190 and at 235. Kaydence Spradlin was 1-0 at 235 and Issabel Wakefield was 1-1 at 145 and 155.
