ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. — Tyler Duncan, returning to the site of his lone PGA Tour victory, carded a 3-over-par 75 Thursday in the opening round of the RSM Classic and is tied for 135th place.
Starting on the back nine, the Columbus North graduate shot 1-over 37 on his first nine and 2-over 38 on the front on Sea Island Golf Club’s Plantation Course. Duncan will play Sea Island’s Seaside Course on Friday.
Maverick McNealy fired an 8-under 62 on the Seaside Course, and Michael Thorbjornsen had an 8-under 64 on the Plantation Course to share the first-round lead. Andrew Novak was 7-under 65 on the Plantation Course.
Duncan won the 2019 RSM Classic at Sea Island.
