Hackman elected as AIC officer

Barbara Hackman, Bartholomew County treasurer, was elected First Vice President of the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) board of directors. She began her term on Nov. 1. Board elections were held during the AIC’s Annual Conference in September.

Hackman started in local government as matron in the sheriff’s department and worked in several different offices and agencies. She was then elected township assessor, county auditor, and now serves as county treasurer. Hackman has served on the AIC Board previously while in the auditor’s office.

The AIC board of directors sets policies and legislative goals for the association.
