JACKSON COUNTY — Jackson County Sheriff deputies and Hamilton Township Volunteer Fire Department were sent to the 4000 block east of County Road 800N for a reported explosion and fire at Cort Acres at 11:58 p.m. Saturday.
There were no injuries, and no determination of the exact cause of the explosion. Residents in the immediate area of Cort Acres were evacuated for safety until it was safe for them to return to their homes.
Multiple volunteer fire departments and Jackson County EMS responded due to the nature of the incident. This incident is still under investigation.
All emergency personnel cleared the area early in the morning of Dec. 1st.
