Columbus couple Terry and Connie Marbach traveled to Hollywood to attend the premiere of the movie “Wild,” which chronicled the story of a woman who hiked the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail alone. The Marbachs hiked the trail themselves in increments over 22 years.
1999
The seventh annual Festival of Lights parade made its way through downtown Columbus streets to the tune of “Sleigh Ride,” performed by the Columbus East High School marching band. Temperatures in the 50s allowed residents to watch the parade comfortably.
1974
A Living Nativity was presented by several hundred members of First Christian Church during the second annual Festival of the Trees. The nativity took place on the steps of the church, in the church courtyard and between the library and Visitors Center.
