JOHNSON COUNTY — A group of Johnson County volunteers are still requesting monetary and item donations for survivors of Hurricane Helene.
In a Facebook post, Sarah Carmack said the group — which is organized by Sarah, her husband Kyle and friends — is not where they want to be with donations with a short time left to donate. The donations will be for a free toy drive and holiday dinner for the hurricane survivors in Bakersville, North Carolina.
People can donate money through Venmo, CashApp and envelopes at some physical drop-off locations mostly in Johnson County and/or donate unused or just opened items for all ages at the drop-off locations. There is also an Amazon wish list registry where people can order items for hurricane survivors at shorturl.at/bw9wR.
Donations close Dec. 10 and people can follow Kyle Carmack on Facebook for updates.
