Around 60 Columbus East High School students made baby quilts to donate to the Pregnancy Care Center and child-size pillows for the Salvation Army. In total, the students donated 12 quilts and nine pillows.

Columbus resident Vickie Wilson won second place in the seventh annual Worldwide Gourmet Recipe Contest sponsored by Weight Watchers International, Inc., with her Best Barbequed Hot Dogs recipe. Wilson received a gold watch at the local Weight Watchers store in Holiday Center.
