The following closings are planned for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Columbus City offices will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25, for Christmas.
There will be no city curbside trash collections on Wednesday, Dec. 25th. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday collections will be delayed one day, with Friday’s collections on Saturday, Dec. 28th. Toters need to be out by 7 a.m.

The Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District offices and the Columbus/Bartholomew County Recycling Center will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Wednesday, Jan. 1. The Bartholomew County Landfill will close at 1 p.m. Dec. 24 and be closed on Dec. 25. The landfill will also be closed Jan. 1.
The Republic will be publishing a paper on Tuesday, Dec. 24. The newspaper, including the Customer Service Call Center, will be closed and will not publish a newspaper on Wednesday, Dec. 25. Newspaper offices reopen on Dec. 26. The Republic, including the Customer Service Call Center will be closed Jan. 1 for the New Year’s holiday, although a paper will be published that morning. The newspaper offices will reopen on Jan. 2.
