Clifty Creek Elementary School and Columbus Signature Academy Lincoln Campus each sponsored food drives, and collected more than 1,000 nonperishable items. Clifty sixth-graders delivered food to Love Chapel, and Fodrea second-graders delivered food to Love Chapel and the Salvation Army.
1999
Dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus, Melvin and Scarlett Harris visited homes in East Columbus, passing out presents and collecting wish lists. Melvin and Scarlett had been playing the holiday parts for five years, staring in the FairOaks Mall.

Four Seasons Retirement Home residents participated in a lecture series presented by Franklin College. Samuel Hicks, assistant professor of music and Franklin College President Wesley Haines spoke during the lectures.
