Pearl LaNette (Jeans) Lucas, 84, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in her home at Cedar Creek of Seymour. She was born January 16, 1940, in Watseka, Illinois to the late James E. and Lorraine (Fender) Jeans.
Pearl married the love of her life, Clifford E. Lucas, on September 28, 1956, and they spent forty wonderful years together. While raising her family, Pearl also managed a 13-year career at JC Penney. She was a past member of the Thursday Night Ladies Bowling League and Shadowood Golf Club. Pearl loved playing card games with her family, going to the casinos, and reading. She had a special affection for cardinals, as red was her favorite color, and she’ll be remembered for her signature red lipstick. Pearl enjoyed many friendships over the years. But more than anything, Pearl loved spending time with her family.
Left behind to treasure her memory are her sons, Jeffrey (Eve) Lucas and Rodney Lucas; grandchildren, Paul (Amie) Ellison, Ben Ellison, Jason (Jessi) Lemieux, Jarrett (Azucena) Lemieux, Stephen (Danielle) Lucas, Katy Lucas, Joshua (Jessica) Lucas, Noah (Kayleigh) Lucas, Elijah Lucas, and John Lucas; 20 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Lorraine Jeans; her beloved husband, Clifford Lucas Sr.; her son, Clifford Lucas Jr.; daughter, Cindy Lemieux; grandson, Jeremy Lemieux; great grandson, Jethro Lucas; sister, Lois Scott; brother, James Jeans; and daughter-in-law, Susan Lucas.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour. A memorial service for Pearl will be held at the funeral home Friday, December 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Cleon Wright will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest immediately following in Riverview Cemetery.
