Foster commits to MSJ
Columbus East senior football player Zach Foster recently made his commitment to continue his academic and football career at Mount St. Joseph.

Foster recorded 48 tackles and three interceptions for the Olympians last fall.
East girls wrestling gets national ranking
Columbus East, which won the inaugural IHSAA girls wrestling state championship last month, debuted at No. 18 in the National GIrls High School Team Rankings for February.
The rankings are determined by a committee which includes representation from USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum.
Wyoming Seminary (Pennsylvania) is ranked No. 1. Merrillville, the Indiana state runner-up, rounds out the rankings at No. 50.
Reed named Hauser girls tennis coach
Hauser has appointed Andrea Reed as its new girls varsity tennis coach for this spring.
Reed replaces Molly Crabtree.
Girls swimming sectional begins Thursday
The girls swimming sectional at Columbus North starts at 5:30 p.m. Thursday with the preliminaries. The diving competition begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with the diving and swimming finals at 1 p.m. that day.
Columbus East will compete in the North Sectional, and Jennings County will be at the Floyd Central Sectional.
Hauser boys hoops adds game
The Hauser boys basketball has added a home contest for next week. The Jets will take on Indiana Math and Science at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Also, the Columbus North boys basketball game at Covenant Christian that was postponed Jan. 7 because of last month’s winter storm has been rescheduled for Feb. 17.
Boys volleyball sectional alignments proposed
The IHSAA came out with its tentative sectional alignments for the inaugural boys volleyball season.
Columbus East and Columbus North are in a proposed eight-team sectional with Franklin, Greenwood Christian Academy, Greenwood, Whiteland, Morristown and Shelbyville.
The finalized sectional pairings and hosts will be announced at a later date. The first official practice is March 10.
