College sports notebook: Smith wins invitational; softball players start strong

Smith, a junior from Columbus North, broke the Cliff Rovelto Indoor track facility record with a throw of 19.22 meters (66 feet, 1 1/2 inches).

Rutan records first win of season for EKU

Maddi Rutan scored her first victory in the circle for Eastern Kentucky season’s opener in Friday’s 5-1 win over Western Kentucky.
