OWENSBORO, Ky. — Brescia swept a River States Conference basketball doubleheader from IU Columbus Wednesday, winning the men’s game 107-68 and the women’s contest 82-57.
LaRenzo Hopkins scored 13 points, and Jennings County graduate Owen Law had 11 point6s, 10 rebounds and two blocks to lead the Crimson Pride men (1-24, 0-13). Deylon Johnson scored 11 points, Bobby Wonnell netted 10 points, Damonte Thompson had seven points and Columbus East grad Jack Fischvogt added seven points.
Jacelyn Starks led the IUC women (2-22, 0-13) with 20 points. Abby Fleetwood and Amaya Collins each scored 10 points, Isyss Donelson had nine points and Cora Baker grabbed 12 rebounds.
The Crimson Pride will play their final three games of the season at home, beginning with Saturday’s 1 p.m. men’s and 3 p.m. women’s contests against Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. IUC’s men and women will host Kokomo Feb. 18 and IU Southeast Feb. 22.
